Alexis Yavne
I’m a creative leader, designer, and maker driven by the excitement of bringing new characters, stories and worlds to life. I love transforming ideas into tangible objects and immersive spaces—turning imagination into reality.
Originally from the suburbs of New York City, I studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan, earning an AAS in Illustration and a BFA Toy Design in 2010. I began my career as a toy designer, working on hard and soft goods as well as packaging graphics and structure. From there, I moved into industrial design with a focus on youth electronics, later returning to toy design as both a designer and a team leader. I also served as an adjunct professor at my alma mater, where I taught Toy Design 101. I’ve since worked in children’s media developing style guides, and I am now the Global Director of Visual Merchandising at FAO Schwarz, where I oversee all things creative.
My approach is rooted in traditional art with an insatiable curiosity for how things are made. I create toys, brand stories, and real-world spaces as a way to spark joy and deliver thoughtful, innovative solutions.
“Bluey has teamed up with Bush’s for a joyful takeover at the legendary @faoschwarz, bringing the beloved world of Bluey to life inside one of the most iconic toy stores on the planet.
Produced by Arsenal New York, the installation transforms the space with a bold, playful build inspired by the Heeler home—Bluey’s world-famous setting that’s loved by fans of all ages. The immersive design features vibrant large-format prints and custom lit displays, creating a colorful, high-energy environment that’s impossible to miss.
Every detail of the build was crafted to spark joy and stop traffic, inviting visitors to step inside Bluey’s world and experience the warmth, humor, and creativity that define the global phenomenon.
The Bluey x Bush’s collaboration at FAO Schwarz captures the magic of play and imagination—celebrating family, fun, and the power of storytelling in a setting where wonder never goes out of style.”
