Bluey at FAO Schwarz
Overview
Role: Design Director, Lead Designer & Project Manager
Objective: Create an immersive Bluey space within a dedicated area of FAO Schwarz.
Solution: Make a relief style facade of the iconic Heeler home so fans can step directly into Bluey and Bingo’s playroom. Bring the playroom to life with oversized props, warm lighting and matte finishes that are faithful to the aesthetic of the show. Ensure that the shop fits within a dedicated area of FAO Schwarz and coordinate the build out so that it is not disruptive to business as the store remains open and operational.
Experiential retail allows visitors to be transported, to step into a fantastical and evocative world. In-depth planning, design and fabrication merge to create seamless environments. At a time when screen fatigue is so pervasive, providing imaginative spaces and fun real-world activities really resonates.
Design
I developed the concept for this installation and ceated 2D drawings and renderings to align with the licensor and internal stakeholders. I coordinated and project managed the sculpting, build out and in-store installation.
